The patient you turn away

The 70-year-old with reduced ridge, declining augmentation, walking out without a treatment plan.

Every implantologist sees this patient. Conventional two-stage protocols rule them out on bone volume, treatment tolerance, or willingness to undergo grafting. A clinically valid alternative now exists.

When to reach for which

Two protocols. One decision per patient.

Two-stage protocol

Conventional implantation

  • Healthy bone, mid-life patient
  • Augmentation often required
  • Multi-stage, flap, often grafting
  • 3–6 month healing window
Single-stage protocol

MiniCare®

  • 70+, reduced bone, denture-bound
  • Adequate ridge, no augmentation
  • Single-stage, flapless, no sutures
  • Immediate or early functional loading
For the 70+ segment

The protocol fits the patients you currently can't treat.

Clinical evidence
91.4%

7-year cumulative survival across 3,787 narrow-diameter implants in 1,005 patients.

The largest systematic review and meta-analysis to date. Clin Oral Investig (2025).

Do they fracture under functional load?

1.05%

Long-term fracture rate across 1,428 implants. 66% occurred in parafunction patients.

What does long-term bone loss look like?

1.40mm

Mean marginal bone loss at 5 years. Within Albrektsson success criteria.

How do they compare to standard-diameter?

OR 1.16

No statistically significant difference in survival within appropriate indications.

Common questions

Answered before the call.

Will the implants fracture under functional load?

MiniCare® implants are produced from Grade 4 cold-worked commercially pure titanium (ISO 5832-2, ASTM F67). A long-term analysis of 1,428 narrow-diameter implants reported a fracture rate of 1.05%, with 66.6% of fractures occurring in patients with documented parafunction. Appropriate patient selection is the dominant predictor.

Will MiniCare® cases overlap with my current case mix?

The indication ranges do not overlap. MiniCare® is the single-stage flapless protocol for cases where bone volume, patient age, or treatment tolerance rule out conventional two-stage implantation. Patients suitable for two-stage continue to receive it.

How is implant traceability handled?

An Implant Pass is available upon request. The document is completed by the treating doctor and supports product traceability and patient documentation.
